It is a proper vivarium only much more versatile. If you notice, there are PVC tubes that go down from the vivarium area into the bins. This will allow the snake to go from a surface area down into a subterranean environment. Not even close to a rack system. This type of cage will allow for a HUGE range of thermo and humidity gradients. This can never be achieved in a simple rack system. I use racks almost exclusively for my snakes. I am a breeder so I need to utilize as much space as possible. However, I would like to try this type of set up for a pair of hogs just to see how they utilize the large gradients.
