My california king snake is a solid confirmed 34 year old. From what i have read, the life expectancy can be over twenty. So this guy is realy old. I jumped through a lot of hoops to find, post, and get a response about what to do. I believe he is close to departing. He is too slow to catch his meal. The last feeder I had to pin down for him. The one before last, died of starvation.
I don't believe releasing him is the best option. Since he has been in captivity his whole life. I just don't think thats right. But I don't know. Thats why I am here. Looking for some answers. Can anyone give good advance on my situation? I have done all tomake him as comfortable as possible. He passes his meal in a timely fashion. He is still pretty active. I believe he also responds to me when I come home. Tracking and comes out from under his coverage to follow movements.
