Hi,

My aunt had a little Thayeri king and he was doing just fine for over a year. I fed him and he was eating very slowly, which was weird for him, and then he didn't take his second food item, which was also really weird. After that we noticed that he swelled up like a sausage. It was like he would lay eggs, except clearly that wasn't the case. He was lethargic and he couldn't move much at all. He ended up passing away a couple days later, but we don't know what it was and my aunt doesn't want to take him to the vet to find out what happened.

Has anyone ever heard of something like this happen? If so what was it? We're thinking he was constipated, or had parasites, though he was kind of young for them to be far along enough to die from it. I'm mostly worried about other snakes having the same problem and us not knowing until it is too late. I wish I had a picture to upload, but I don't. If it helps the swelling started right up at his neck and ended all the way down at his vent.
