Thanks, That was helpful, but I did eventually find a few sites that compared male/female Genitalia including pictures and diagrams. My dissection was a failure, as at the time, I mistakenly thought all the Genitalia was located upstream of the vent....I never thought to look aft; that portion was ignored during my examination. Had I been informed where to look, earlier in my postings, I would have quickly discovered what I needed to know. It turns out that I already have the perfect tools for probing the vent; They are my Foundry Pattern-making wax fillet tools, which look identical to the ball-end probes I saw on line. I have attempted to pick-up and hold my snake, but he squirms a lot, trying to get away and bites my fingers. I think I will need help holding him/her for the examination, but no one I know is volunteering so far. I could use a recommendation on the correct probe diameter for a 34" king Snake....the sites I found were pretty vague on that.
