They will grow the duration of their lifespan, but only ever so slightly after five - six years of age... Tony Carlisle had, what was perhaps, the largest D couperi in captivity several years ago, Mongo was approximately 8' 06" and weighed a solid 21 pounds... If you want to reach the 9' mark, get a Bordner line D. corais or Snodgres line D rubidus, as they are some of the largest out there.
