Posted by: Mahlee at Wed Jul 20 11:34:29 2011 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Mahlee ] My elderly spaniel has developed a serious lung infection. The vet says her prognosis is not good. Mucous was removed from her left lung and she is now breathing OK but the vet fears the mucous will return. She had a very high white blood cell count and has been prescribed Bactryl and Flagyl. My question is if you think Astragalus might help her fight this infection and if so what dosage for 27 lb dog and do you know of anything that might help prevent more mucous from forming in the lung.
