It was a swollen hind leg that required a whole lot of treatment. We found out a few years later that she was hypothyroid, and quite likely was already hypothyroid when this happened. It was rather a nightmare! Check-up with veterinarian, medication, soaking it a bunch of times a day, bloodwork--there was a lot at stake. I don't think my vet uses those hind-leg rabies vaccinations anymore.
