I have an older (14 and a half yrs) collie mix who has been a very finicky eater all her life, and recently it has gotten to the point where she won't eat at all without a LOT of coaxing. The vet says her teeth are good, and she keeps food down when she does eat, but she just never acts hungry and has lost some weight recently as a result. I was wondering if it would be okay to give her one or two tablespoons of butter a day, since that would increase her calorie intake significantly without making her feel like she was eating more. Would that harm her health in other ways though?

Thanks for your time.
