Posted by: Shboom at Thu Feb 14 21:35:00 2013 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Shboom ] Beni's visit to Cornell today went pretty well for the most part. His pressure tested at 8 which I always like to see. The only anomoly was that he tested low once again on the tear test which has had history of being low to okay. Today the doctors noted some deterioration of the right cornea most likely caused by the low tear production in spite of his daily regime of the Cyclosporin 2% Opthalmalic solution. As a result to prevent any corneal ulcers the doctors have prescribed another eye drop medication called Tacrolimus .03% Opthalmalic solution. This a more aggressive tear producer to better keep both eyes lubricated and is to be used in conjunction with the Cyclosporin. Cornell does not carry Tachrolimus as it is produced at a compounding pharmacy. The pharmacy they contacted should call me within a day or two for ordering and billing purposes. I have never had much faith in having meds put through the mail... I would rather pick them up at Cornell or at a local pharmacy so I'll have to see how this works out.
