Hi all...

We currently have a pre-formed plastic liner pond, and it is about 4x6 or so, dog boned shaped, 18" deep....

We have 3 large goldfish (about 4-5" long each) and one large catfish (about 10" long!) and some snails....

We are redoing our pond, eliminating the preformed liner and going bigger...to about a 10x12 or so, digging a hole and using a liner.....problem is, we need to put the new pond where the old one currently is.....

I need to move the fish into a temporary holding tank while we work on the new pond...potentially it could end up being their home for a few weeks....

I was considering moving the fish into buckets, removing the liner and trying to set that up in another part of our yard temporarily to hold them....but that will be a lot of work....supporting the preformed liner is the biggest concern I have....

Could I use a kiddie pool that is at least 18" deep without fear of harming the fish?? I am concerned about predators as we have lost two fish to either cats or racoons....so it would have to be a rigid side pool and not a blowup.....Would the liner of the pool cause any problems as far as chemicals in the liner itself?? I figured we could buy a brand new one and then once the fish have been moved into the new pond we can use the kiddie pool for the kids this summer....

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance everyone....
