Anacharis problems

I just finished my pond, yesterday. I put in about 10 bunches of anacharis and now, all of them are turning white. They're in direct sun most of the day and they are anchored in aquatic plant soil with some gravel on them. What could be wrong with them? Is there not enough food for them in the pond. I don't have the waterfall part set up yet, but that will be finished, today. Help?
