I live in Western NC and a few weeks ago my husband and I put in a 1500 gallon pond. We dug down about 2 1/2 feet deep. (At which point the ground was so tough even my 2 cycle gas tiller couldnt break through)We used the remaining clay soil to build up the edges and give us another 6 inches of depth. Ever since we put the pond in I notice a small leak on one side. I dont loose much water, have drained the pond down to check the liner for holes and even built the edge up a bit more. Still there is a leak. Odd thing is it seems to come from the ground up. Now I am noticing the ground beneath shifting. The nice ledge I put in seems to be dimishing and a new one (near the leak) seems to be pushing out. Someone suggested it might be groundwater. Anybody out there have any idea what it going on please help.
