She gets plenty of sleep during the day as well as activity time at night. I've noticed a couple nights after I've put her back in her cage that she makes these shrill, high pitched noises. Last night I heard her jump down off her platform before making this noise. I've read that chinchillas can get cramps due to calcium deficiencies in their diet. I know that chinchillas are very sensitive and do not tolerate too much touching, but she seems to have a negative reaction every time I touch her hind legs. I also noticed that they sell calcium powder in the small animal section of my local pet store. Is anybody familiar with this type of behavior or does anybody give thier chinchillas calcium supplements? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
