I have a bit of a problem here. For the past 5 years I have loved exotic cats, asian leopard cats and servals to be more specific. I know, i have been fantasizing these cats since i was a kid. I also Love savannahs, bengals safaris, there so beautiful. I go to the local zoo and watch the animal shows and set up an easel to paint them. I have this love of them, I would really like to become a breeder of one of these cats/ hybrids. As of right now, all i have is my one bengal cat. Ive done endless research, gone to the city hall where i live, read ordinances, state laws, regulations. I called the fish and game/wildlife conservation commission, they tell me I need 1000documented experiance hours with the animals of the permit i am looking to get. I need a class C permit. So on goes the hunt to find places to get this experiance. WELL, i've checked exotic animal shelters, zoo's, wildlife refuges, as many as i could find, all are either unbeleiveably far, or require interships with 40 hour work weeks AND a need to be a college junior in an animal based curriculum. Ive been having this problem for months now. I am a freshman in college, nor am i in the curriculum, I am a full time student with a job. I have free time, but the distance of these places, the time required, I wanted to know how any of you got the time to go get these licenses...? Am i going to have to wait til I am out of college? Or do any of you know anyplace I can get the hours for this without an internship? Any advice would be helpful lol. Thanks in advance!
