I am very new owner, my first hedgie has arrived my place a wk ago, he is around 3 months old. I understand that i have to let him get familiar with my smell so i put my worn T shirt into the cage, and i thought when he smells me later on, he wont think that i am his intruder or something.

However, the problem occurs... when i was trying to play with him, i put my finger next to him, and he started sniffing on it, and started biting me after a few sniff. I wonder if he doesn't like me, or is it just normal because they always need too bite on things? or is it due to teething? or will this due to the perfume that i wear? or some smell left on my hand that he might think that i am his treat? should i buy him rubber toys to bite?

i am currently feeding him with dog biscuits, and i have already fed him with a little bit apple and he seems to love it too! will it be sufficient if i only feed him with these for the first 2 wks?
