Sick Squirrel

Just wondering if anyone out there can help.
I have a gray Squirrel that I have raised from a little pink wad about six years ago.
He has occasionally been getting sick, or more to the point, acts like he is drunk. He is eating good and is generally good health for an older rodent.
Lately he has been sleeping till past dinnertime also which is out of character for this son of mine!
he is also drinking like there is no more water on earth.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
