>>a friend of mine has a friend whos 2 yr old female rat has gone blind in the space of 2 days and has been clawing at her eyes as well...the rat was acting fine and normal up until now, and i was wondering if anyone on here would have any ideas? shes taking the rat to the vet tomorrow but isnt sure the vet will know whats going on =/ they havent fed her anything different, they havent changed cage cleaning procedures or anything like that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's pretty sad. I can only hope they figure something out, but given her age it could be any number of things that would take a toll on her health.
