First, you said you were new to fish... now you are a master fisherman. If you are going to be a fisheries biologist, then you should be more concern about the reasons why I recommend you not keep wild fish. There are many conservation organizations working to keep the fish stocks healthy.



Second, according to the size and catch limits of NC, which are pretty much the same for any Atlantic state (proof lies in any Atlantic state's DMF website)... no juvenile fish are to be taken from the wild. NO DMF allows the capture of babies, that's why there are regulations. If you have had any classes to become a fisheries biologist you would have known that.



I can't tell the people that leave their fish on the beach about this because they didn't come on my forums. You asked on the forum, and so this is your answer. Don't take the babies from the wild.
