He was active and fine yesterday. I don't know what happened! He was in a 10 gallon tank with one goldfish. The goldfish is 2" long and the pleco 3 1/2". I feed the goldfish his food, and then I give an algae wafer at night to my pleco. What was strange this morning is that my pleco's tail was frayed, and there was a big gelatinous glob on the tank floor surrounding one of his wafers. The gelatinous glob had really small pearl-like balls on it. What was that? Also, he was floating by the filter. Could the filter have killed him somehow? I have a Whisper PF-10. One more thing, when I took my pleco out of the tank and examined him, there was a small red dot of blood underneath his upper left fin area.
