I have a Green Terron Cichlid. I have been trying to diagnose its sickness or injury for about two months, but have not been having any luck at the store or alone.

My fish lays on his side at the bottom of the tank and is sometimes motionless, but when I attempt to feed him he perks up and moves his side fins and trys to move closer to the food and is sometimes successful at moving a few inches, but nothing more. When something comes close enough to him, he will eat it and I am guessing this is how he has survived as long as he has on that little amount of food.

Obviously over the two months, I have changed the water over and over to try and fix that. The store told me I needed to add Aquarium salt and I tried that for a few weeks without success. The also told me it was swim bladder infection and I used that medication as labeled to address that, but no change. He does not have any signs on the outside of him that seem to shoe parasites.

FYI...he is around 6 years old. I have checked the water, temperature, and anything else I can think of. He seems to not be able to use his back fin to assist him in swimming or at least have a hard time using it. Any help will be appreciated. I have included all that I know so far.
