I am thinking of getting into Mikrogeophagus ramirezi (Ram Cichlids, Bolivian, German Blue, etc.). However I am reading a lot of controversial text on them. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of them, their habits, behaviors, etc. I have also heard that they can be finicky eaters with flake and such. Anyone have any advice on what food is best for these beauties? I have read they like to be in pairs, so, my next question would be has anyone kept them in with other species, or have they been housed in a species specific tank? I am setting up a 29g for my Cardinal Tetras, and have considered the idea of getting a few Rams to go in with them. All thoughts, comments and concerns welcomed. Please just be polite.
