How to move fish tanks when moving house

I was just thinking about how to move the fish and tanks when you are moving into a new house? Unfortunately it will be 2 years before I have to worry about that with the current housing woes...but just curious anyway.
Granted you'd have to drain the tank so physically move it...but then when you refilled it wouldn't you have to recycle it again because it'd lose to much bacteria and the stuff in the filter would dry out from desiccation?
What would you do with the fish?
