I know its been a few months since this post has been made, but I figured I'd chip in. It looks like some sort of Tilapia to me... doesn't look like a hybrid. They're a cichlid from Africa that can get somewhat big and dominate an entire tank (in my experience). There are several species I believe and I'm not sure which kind the fish in the picture is.
