I suppose it isn't harmful in small patches, however, it can take over quickly. Since you have corals, I would advise you keep it out of your tank as much as possible. You can enjoy it for a few days, and then get rid of it... don't worry it will be back. With the amount of light you need for the corals, I'm sure it would take over your tank in no time.
