I have approx 13-17 baby Kribensis fry that are between 3-4 weeks old. The parents are still protecting them, and allowing them to come out for "daily adventure swims". How long before the parents stop defending them? I want to make sure to separate them, but not before it is too early, and obviously before it is too late. Any ideas? I finding such an array of opinions online, so I am not sure what is best...looking mostly for experience advice, but all advice is welcomed and appreciated! Thanks!!!

And little info on the tank: 29 Gallon with all live plants and a huge "explosion" of Java Moss. And funny enough... I do not have one single cave in this tank... Yet they still bred and raised fry... 1st try! I think the Java Moss is great way to help the success rate... it provides plenty of cover and shelter, it creates a nice "barrier" from other fish, and it allows the smaller food particles to get stuck, allowing the fry to eat more readily on their own! I highly recommend putting Java Moss in your Kribensis tank!
