That is why we started using the towel method both to get her out of the cage and also to hold her when she is already out. Even though she was agitated by it the first few times she now settles down completely in the towel and seems to enjoy being snuggled in it for very long periods of time. The towel wrapped securely but not tight around her seems to give her a feeling of safety so she relaxes and allows snuggles and scritches then.
