Hello Everyone, For the past three years I have had four zebra finches in my computer room. They have been in seperated cages as one cage houses a pair of males that I inherited. The other cage is a male/female pair. I wanted to put everyone in the larger cage which is 32" long, 20" deep, and 38" high. I thought I did enough research and learned that I needed matched pairs and that six birds per cage was better than four. So I bought two more females to put in with the males and than was going to add the male/female pair to the same cage. Sounded good, however, I purchased the two new females and when I added them to the cage with the two males things didn't go as planned. It was a mess. The one male became aggressive to everyone and chased the one female relentlessly. I finally managed to get the two girls back out and into a sperate cage again. The boys have now settled back down again. I am fustrated since I see cages in the pet stores that have so many zebra's and mostly the males out number the females but they are are just getting along. And than I see pictures of others aviaries with multiple birds and it look so nice.

Would it be okay to put the two new females in with the male/female pair?

I am hoping someone with more experience can help me figure out what I did wrong or have some suggestions on how to get them all into one cage.

Thanks,
LisaB
