I take care of finches myself and they are sociable by nature. They should be bought in pairs so that shouldn't be an issue at all. Finches tend to be better with a companion of their own kind. If you were to mix different varieties of finches there could be possible conflict especially during mating season. If they seem to be very stressed, probably you may have to separate the pairs.
