We have been affected big time by Hurricane Gustav, and while I personally have gone through hurricanes and the resulting power outages before, this is my first time going through one, with my cockatiels.

We are in one piece, our house safe and secure, we just do not have any electricity, and it will be Tuesday next week at the earliest before we get power back.

So my concern is this: How long will my cockatiels be okay in the dark and with no A/C? Do I need to spray them with water to keep them cool? Should I find a place that does have A/C until we get power back?

I don't like the thought of leaving them in unfamiliar surroundings, but I want to make sure my babies are safe.

Any suggestions appreciated, especially from anyone who has experienced power outages before.
