It was more a surprise than anything. We had one pair that had hatched out two in February and did a good job raising them. I never expected the other two pairs to produce fertile eggs or to succeed in hatching them.
So far, they are all doing a good job of raising their chicks.
(We have potential homes for 6 of the 9 so it won't be so bad.)
