If you are really wanting a second bird yourself then maybe it would work. In getting a new bird no matter what species (and I would really only suggest the same type as you have) there is no guarantee the two will get along. Yes in some circumstances it will work but just as often or more often it will not go the way you want. First they could completely hate each other, try to attack each other, scream constantly, compete for attention etc. In that instance you would need two cages in separate rooms and more time to spend then you already do with one. Next there is a possibility that they will like each other, will bond to one another and make it harder for you to handle or work with either one.
