On Tuesday I got my first love bird. She is a lovely Peach Face and I am giving her time to settle in. I have had Quakers, parakeets, Indian Ring necks, cockatiels and finches.
With hand taming a parakeet. I have done the perch stick and quiet hand method.
She is on a seed/pellet mix along with fresh fruit and veggies, her wings are already clipped and she is in a large parakeet cage for now.
I cover part of the cage for drafts and at night also to give her a sense of security.

What methods do you reccommend to get her to want to come out or to quietly accept my hand in or near her cage.
I have put my hand quietly in the door opening, and talk to her. And can put my hand near her on the outside of the cage.
So any other thoughts?

Thanks
Carol
