Ours have usually seemed to like veggies better as well. We feed squash of all different varieties both cooked and uncooked (grated or diced). Some of ours have liked small veggie chunks on skewers and then played with them besides eating them. We have always had excellent luck with our birdie bread as well. So far even our pickiest haven't passed on the birdie bread although on some it does take a few tries for anything new.
