You may remember Skye/Satly/Pepper/ and Sea, from a few months ago. When I was unsure of Salty's sex, and not sure how the 4 would do come breeding time. Well, after much examination of Salty...His cere is quite a 'bubble' like Pepper's is, not flat and ugly like Skye and Sea, so I'm pretty much positive he IS a real boy

But regardless, he is not the daddy! The two younger ones Pepper and Sea have become the dominant pair. They've taken over the nest box and layed 8-9 eggs in it! I was so excited when I saw 4 little white eggs in the box with Sea. But just 2 days ago I heard some tiny peeping from in the box! =D

I finaly got an opportunity to peek in there yesterday, and there's a tiny bald baby birdie in there! and not 4, but 8! eggs..Could be 9, but Sea flew in after I counted 8 and moved them a bit. So it's either 8 or 9! Holy Flock! I thought 4 was average? Sea and Pepper are very attentive parents, and they yell at Skye and Salty if they try to look in the box

Could all of them eggs really hatch? I've already had people saying "oh cute if you have any you can't get homed I'll take them" lol I did want to expand the flock, but not more than double it in one breeding season! Once these are hatched, I think I'll remove the box
