Someone dumped off a poor little silky hen on my doorstep last Saturday. She was in TERRIBLE shape! She was severely malnourished, dehydrated, and bloodied from picking by the other hens. I started her right away on FOOD and WATER, of course, but also antibiotics. She is really coming around--except for one problem: her feet appear to be dead. I mean, just solid as rocks and immovable. Her legs are warm and fine and she tried VERY hard to stand up, which she has accomplished these last two days. Her comb and wattles are pinking up, she's making her happy chicken noises, eating and drinking well, and if so very affectionate.
WHAT CAN I DO TO SAVE her LITTLE FEET? What in the world could have caused this? HELP!!!!
