I don't think anyone can tell you from a simple post if you'll be a good horse owner or not
But when it comes to convincing parents - there are many of us about who went through that at one time or another! I was actually about your age, well, maybe just a bit younger actually, when I had pestered my Dad to the point where he told me if I earned the money for a horse, I could get one. Two years later, with the money in the bank, I had my first horse. Of course, he thought I'd grow out of it...never happened! Instead he created a monster But he did make me work for it and I try to make my kids work for big things like that too. Even though we have horses, I never want them to think its an easy thing to do - keeping a horse is hard work, and can cost big money at times.
So at the very least, start out by proving you can be responsible. From there, work on showing them you're serious about it and willing to pull your share. Even if it turns out that they can't help you now, you have your future ahead of you and effort you put into it now will help you when you're ready to head out on your own in the future! ----- PH Cody HorseHobbyist Site Coordinator
