We use rubber curries here, and a stiff brush. I prefer rubber to the metal ones simply because I can scrub harder and use it on more areas of the horse without hurting them.
Another thing you can do is "bathe" her using hot, wet towels on one section at a time, and dry each section with dry towels as you go.
