Once upon a time, long ago, I mentioned my paint horse Boo. He's the most darling, sweet little doll on the earth, but he's got a serious problem. His teeth are WRETCHED! The dentist thinks he was kicked in the mouth while he was a baby and his teeth were forming. He's got a nearly horizontal incisor, or as we affectionately call it, the snaggle tooth, and the other is nonexistant. In fact, he's missing quite a few of his front teeth! He also has gingivitis, although miraculously it's not a very bad case. I have a few questions:
1.) What should I do about his gingivitis? Where can I find one of those mouthwash pumps, what kind of mouthwash do I use, where do I get it, and where can I find a horse toothbrush? She told me to do all of these things, chuckling to herself the whole time saying "Wow, it's been a really, really, really long time since I've told someone to brush the horse's teeth..."
2.) What do I do in the long run, if his teeth have to be pulled? I know they make a mush that the horses in the rescue can eat that are either diabetic or have no back teeth can eat (obviously it's not the same mush for both!). Is that what I would have to do for him? Or is it something dooming when that happens? Needless to say I'm praying it's not the latter!!!
Thanks!
