Hi,
My horse, who is up to date on all immunizations and deworming was recently diagnosed with colitis and hypoprotienemia. He has lost a lot of weight & his face fills with fluid. His face, chin groove, and glands in his neck are so swollen that his bridle no longer fits. He was taken to the Universitys vet hospital and they recommended a change in diet. After the change he has been more alert but the edema persists. Is there anything else I can do for him? How long does it take the edema to go away? Does anyone else have experience with this problem? I would appreciate any information you have. Thank you very much!
