Hi everyone!
We will be doing a feature on good books about or featuring horses in an upcoming issue of Hoofbeats. What are your favorite horse books?
I'd like to know both "practical" books (books on training or keeping horses, or the history of horses, or books about their health, biology, habitat, etc.) and also fiction: mysteries, novels, science fiction, even romances, that feature horses.
Some of my favorites are:
The "Sister Jane" mystery series about foxhunting by Rita May Brown Horsekeeping on a Small Acreage by Cherry Hill A Good Horse is Never a Bad Color by Mark Rashid Seabiscuit (my favorite) by Laura Hillenbrand Ruffian: Burning from the Start by Jane Schwartz Secretariat: The Making of a Champion by William Nack
OK, your turn! And please ask your friends to come post their answers too, I want to make sure I don't leave out any great books. If they don't want to post, they can email me here:
