Akkkkkkkk, Im being a dunce again, but that is my normal state. There is a series of mysteries with a retired British jockey as the detective, and I can't remember the author. They give an excellent picture of the British racing scene as well as a good read. And, I think, it's Willy Shoemaker that has also been doing some writing since his retirement...
