Ok, I'll try to make a long story short.

Rescued 23-25 y/o QHx mare. Severely underweight - if on a scale of 1-5, 3 is normal, she's at 0.5. In bad shape overall, tho' if she wasn't pg, we'd be able to work with her back into good health. Fungal infections over all of her legs and on her underside.

Due in mid-late April. My vote is very honestly to terminate the pregnancy and save the mare. I don't think she's in any shape to take this pg to term and survive herself. Our vet hasn't been able to get out and see her yet for his opinion.

I just don't know what we can do at this point. Any ideas? If there is a way that we can save both Momma and baby - I'll go with it. But I want to save Momma first.

She travels well, or seemed to. If needed, we could take her to ISU - 2.5 hour trip. KSU, who I'd be ok with, is 4.5. CSU, who I'm used to working with, is about 8-9 hours now I'd guess.

Thanks for any and all help!
Ashley
