Okay im new to this forum, When I was young i use to love ants, id have home made antfarms and I was fasinated by them...well i grew up and the fascination faded... but recently i found a Large antfarm at a garage sell and decided to live a youngster again, and bought it, after trying to explain to my GF why there so cool, i got some Red Harvester Ants down here in South Texas and populated the farm.

Ive had them for about a month, There doing good, but I just ran atop the most craziest thing just now... You can hear the ants talk, I know that sounds ridiculous, but please bear with me...

I fed the ants piece of apple just now, because they seem to love them over pieces of candy... well today It was pitch quiet in my apartment, i grabbed a piece of apple and dropped it in there.

After awhile I heard these noises in the ant farm... I couldnt quite understand it, but i put my ear closer...and sure enough you can actually hear the ants... all communicating...or making some sort of noise, kinda like really fast soft duck quaks... To verify I wasnt crazy i asked my GF to come listen, she thought i was crazy... and once the noise settled..she heard em too..

Now am I CRAZY?? Or has this been researched? Im serious I reccomend you ant guys, to scoop up some RED HARVESTER ANTS put them in an ant farm and shut the sound out completley... i mean completeley... I ASSURE you, you can hear them talking to each other...maybe u have to put food in there... I know this sounds dumb, but im serious i just ran across this after having them for a month..... i never knew in my life you could hear ants, I even researched it on google, and found nothing... Can someone who has expertise verify im not crazy

Thanks

-Ryan
