I recently purchased a tarantula for a class pet (to look at) in my class. About ten years ago I kept a mexican rose legged as a pet that was given to me by a student, it was great but didn't do much except hide.

The pet shop near my house deals with a wide variety of spiders and recommended the Salmon Birdeater as a hardy and exciting to view species. So far it has been a great spider, very active and always hungry.

Any tips on feeding schedules and housing ideas would be appreciated.
