Hello guys, I'm having a problem with my lovely pedes I imported from Taiwan. I brought back 7, but two have died since October, leaving me with only 5. Two of the remaining ones are active and healthy looking, but the other three often remain curled and quite sluggish. I'm very worried about their health and need to know what I can do to save them.



The situation- I am keeping them in a small, moist terrarium with a mixture of soil, rotten oak wood, leaf litter, and spaghnum. Their natural habitat is in the cool mountains, and I collected them from a stone wall covered with moss. I had observed them in leaf litter, in rotten wood, and in the soil. So far, they have been eating apple and banana, some spinach leaves, and the rotten wood. They probably have been eating the detritus as well.



Recently I had the idea to provide them with some heat, because I thought it would make them more active. This seems to have been a terrible mistake, because I noticed today one had died, and the three smallest are now quite sluggish. I have since removed the heat source (an undertank heating pad) as that seemed the obvious solution.



So, I'm hoping for the best, and if anyone can provide some ideas or advice I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm pretty inexperienced with keeping millipedes. My hope is to breed them and make them available to the western markets. While I was in Taiwan, these gorgeous fellows were everywhere and it was a delight to observe them so frequently.
