The butterflies haven't shown up today, but I found three translucent yellowish green caterpillars with black heads on the leaves of the same tree. They're maybe around 1/2" long; one has a slightly darker green streak down its back. I'll post pics ASAP, but since I'm moving...hopefully these are the same kind of caterpillars as the butterflies, and their description will help?
