I purchased a Vietnamese Pede approx 6-ish weeks ago at a convention. When I got him home & put him in the tank, he wasn't very active. I use eco-earth substrate with a bit of moss, which I now removed to help with the situation:
Pede has not eaten at all since he's been here, and he is always found laying on his back, as if he is paralyzed & can't move. Ya, I mean completely upside down on his back. When I turn him back over he walks -usually- fine again, but every morning & night he's positioned on his back again, not moving until he's sprayed or poked with a spoon. What can be going on? The tank is at the correct temperature always, and he is constantly being sprayed. He has a log to play in and is fed appropriately, ususally crickets. When I do spray him, he tends to become active again, but still not enough where it's normal, as in order for him to move I have to personally flip him back over with a spoon so he can walk. I'd say this goes on for about 85% of the entire day/night. Not even sure how he flips himself over, and obviously no idea why he does it. Any ideas?
