I am the same way. We actually had declawed two of our cats(parents discision)and I felt reallt bad. this was before we heard that they actually remove a large part of the toe though.(not that it makes a difference, declawing is mean)Another one of our cat's had been declawed by the previouse owner so yeah. If humans were to get "de-nailed" and they did it the same way I was told it would be up to the first joint in the finger. Isn't that aweful? Two of our cats have claws and they are doing just fine. They rareley scrath the furnature and know where they should scrath(scratching posts, pads, etc.)I think that cats were born with claws, it is a part of their body what gives people the right to take that away? Just because they done really need them anymore(for fighting in the wild) doesn't mean we should remove them!
