Depends entirely on the vet for me.

My one declawed kitty (declawed due to the fact she had to be tranquilized for nail trims and was getting worse) had a traditional declaw and healed fine. I can not stand the vet who is cheap enough for me to afford that does laser ($250 w/o pain management, $325 with), and the other vets are too expensive for me (more in the $5-600 range for a laser declaw which does NOT include pain management)

She's fine now, not seeing any of the behavior problems that can appear - but I'd rather have let her keep her claws.
