>>OK - this is round-about... >> >>I figured that a cat would lie on the side where it's heart would be warmest. I couldn't find which side of the chest a cat's heart is on, but I did find pages on CPR for cats. They said to lay the cat on its right side to massage the heart. So I figured the bulk of the heart is on the LEFT side, same as in a human. Ergo, my conclusion is that a cat would lie on it's left side, thus making the fur on the right side thicker. CV is currently curled up with his left side under, so he's backing up my theory. >> >>I still like the belly theory best. I love them fuzzy bellies!
Good theory, MA, and it's probably correct, however it appears that you've forgotten one tiny thing - this is a RIDDLE in the Feline Fun Forum.
Questions and answers don't have to be logical on this forum.
And the answer is - the hair is thicker on the OUTSIDE of a cat. MOL. ----- Ruby and the Kitties Simba, Samantha, Katrina & KatyKatt
